Mistakes happen. An email gets deleted, a rule moves a message somewhere unexpected, or you realize you need an email from last week, or last month.

With Thexyz Email, you have two powerful recovery tools that act as built-in safety nets. While they may sound similar, they serve different purposes.

Understanding which one to use will help you recover emails quickly and confidently.

Which Tool Should I Use?

1. Archive Manager (Mailbox Snapshots)

The Archive Manager lets you view your mailbox exactly as it existed on a specific date. This is ideal when you know where the email used to be, but it was later deleted or moved.

Think of it as a time machine for your mailbox.

How to Restore Messages

1. Log in to the User Panel using:

   • Your full email address (example: user@domain.com)

   • Your current email password

2. Open Archive Manager

Step-by-Step Restore

Choose a date
In the Display Folder section, select the date you want to view. The system will load a snapshot of your mailbox from that day.

Select a folder
Choose the folder you want to inspect. The message list updates automatically to show all emails that existed in that folder on the selected date.

Find your email
Use search and sorting tools to locate the message(s) you need.

Select and restore

1. Check the box beside the message(s)

2. Scroll to the Restore section at the top

3. Choose a destination folder:

   • Restore to the original folder, or

   • Restore to a temporary Troubleshooting folder to avoid clutter

4. Click Restore Messages

Folder Navigation Tips

• Folder menus act as a hierarchy navigator

• Click into subfolders to go deeper

• Use the “Go Back” option to move up one level

Restoring an Entire Folder

You may also restore a full folder at once.
Note: This may create duplicate messages if some emails already exist in your mailbox.

2. Gateway Archive Manager (30-Day Incoming Log)

The Gateway Archive is your master log for incoming mail.

If you know an email arrived recently but:

• Don’t remember the folder

• Suspect a filter moved it

• Think it was blocked or redirected

…this is the right tool.

How to Restore Messages

1. Log in to the User Panel

2. Open Gateway Archive Manager

Step-by-Step Restore

Select the date
Choose the day the email was received. All incoming external messages for that date will load.

Filter results
Use the search bar to filter by:

• Sender

• Subject line

Select and restore

1. Select the message(s)

2. Scroll to the Restore section

3. Choose a destination folder

4. Click Restore Messages

Optional Upgrade: Mail Archive (Recommended)

By default, the Gateway Archive retains incoming messages for 30 days.

For users who want long-term peace of mind, Thexyz offers an optional Mail Archive upgrade.
