I am getting a password prompt in Outlook

Here are some troubleshooting tips to follow if you are still having trouble accessing your mailbox with Outlook:

  1. Verify that you have the correct settings configured for your mailbox. Refer to the email server settings to find the correct settings for connecting to your email account.
  2. Make sure you are using your mailbox's actual email address and not an alias, distribution list or any other address. This should be the same email address you used to sign in to Webmail.
  3. Check your server settings, email address, and password for any typos.
  4. Restart Outlook.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Remove your mailbox from Outlook and re-add it. There are various guides with step-by-step instructions on how to re-configure your mailbox on your version of Outlook.

If you continue to have a problem, it might be worth clearing old Windows credentials or checking if there is a Microsoft Live association with the account causing a conflict
