We have made a few changes to the life cycle of the .EU domains on our systems following a change made by the registry. EU domains will now follow a life cycle similar to that of gTLDs.

For domains registered before September 15th, 2014, the domains will expire on the 2nd last day of the expiring month and will then go through a 25 day renewal grace period. On non renewal during this period, the domain will be deleted and the customer will have to restore it within 40 days. For domains registered after September 15, 2014, the domains will expire on the same day as the registration date in the expiring month and then go through a 25 day renewal grace period. On non renewal, the domain will be deleted and would need to be restored within 40 days.
In simpler terms, post 3rd August, the expiry date that is shown on OB is the date the domain will expire on.

If the domain is renewed anytime before the domain goes into quarantine, the expiry date will be extended by 1 year. If the domain is renewed/reactivated after it goes into quarantine, the expiry date will be extended by 2 years.
