In the coming weeks we will be introducing DMARC policy enforcement and reporting for all incoming email. DMARC is a form of sender authentication, which includes SPF and DKIM, that allows email receivers like Hosted Email to validate attributes of a message against public DNS information for the sender. If the message is not valid, then the same DNS information tells receivers how to treat the message (do nothing, treat as spam, reject). DMARC is a proven defense against common spoofing and phishing tactics used by the bad guys to fool users into giving up sensitive or personal information.

Initially, this protection is targeting incoming email from the Internet. The next step will be DKIM signing of outgoing mail, which will allow our customers to take advantage of a DMARC policy for your domain.
