To maintain the effectiveness of your email communications, particularly with Gmail and Yahoo users, we're introducing important updates to GroupList that you'll need to implement. These changes are designed to enhance your email deliverability and ensure compliance with the latest email-sending standards.

One-Click Unsubscribe Requirement As of February 1, 2024, if you're sending over 5,000 emails daily to Gmail or Yahoo accounts, it's now mandatory to include both the List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click headers in your emails. GroupList has supported List-Unsubscribe for several years and now adds List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click to comply with new requirements from Google and Yahoo.

Mandatory Email Authentication The practice of authenticating your sending domain with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC has shifted from a recommendation to a requirement. Using Amazon SES for email dispatch, GroupList users must ensure these authentication methods are correctly configured for their domains.

Spam Rate Management Keep your spam complaint rate below 0.3% to maintain high deliverability. Since Gmail does not share spam rate data with ESPs, you can monitor your performance by registering your domain with Google's Postmaster Tools.

Updates and Fixes

  • AWS Secret Key Update: The AWS secret key password field in settings is now blank for new entries, enhancing security.
  • Email Address Formatting: GroupList now removes both unicode and regular white spaces in email addresses during CSV imports.
  • Bug Fixes: We've corrected a date issue in CSV exports and a bug affecting form submissions with empty date fields.
  • Enhanced Bulk Email Handling: The addition of the Precedence: Bulk header informs ISPs of bulk email campaigns, reducing misclassification as spam.
  • Improved Search Functionality: Searching across all lists and campaigns is now more intuitive, with search fields retaining focus for continuous searches.

  • Link Health Checks: Before sending, GroupList will now alert you to any broken links in your emails, ensuring all links are functional.

  • Unsubscribe Tag Compliance: New checks for missing or incorrect unsubscribe tags help minimize complaint rates and ensure compliance.

Customizations and Compliance Enhancements

  • New List Opt-In Settings: Choose between 'single' or 'double' opt-in for new lists directly from settings.
  • Customizable ‘Already Subscribed’ URL: Now supports passing variables like name, email, and list ID for personalized redirects.
  • Technical Improvements: Several fixes have been implemented for compatibility with PHP 8.1 and 8.2, including adjustments for CSV import processes and API error handling.

These updates are critical for ensuring your email marketing remains effective and compliant with current standards. Please review and implement the necessary changes to enjoy uninterrupted email delivery success.
