Restarting services with Linux command line

While Linux is a very stable system, it may sometimes be necessary to restart certain services.

To get a a list of services that may need restarting, SSH into this server and run ‘/bin/needs-restarting’, then manually restart each of the listed processes.

Display a list of services that need restarting to ensure server is operating seamlessly

/bin/needs-restarting

To restart the clamd service

service clamd restart

To restart the httpdservice

service httpd restart
